Anne-Marie Bernier is a Winnipeg based amateur photographer who loves to combine her love of travel and photography. Her father was an avid photographer and she remembers fondly the hours spent looking at the slideshows of his trips to Africa and the Middle East.
Her first “real” camera, a Pentax K1000 she received for her high school graduation, started her own life long love of photography. Travel and street photography is all about chance encounters and fleeting moments captured to tell a story. It is non-stop energy and excitement and the interactions with the people captivate her creative attention.
A recent trip to both Bangladesh and Oman presented many photographic opportunities but also presented some challenges. Anne-Marie will present images from her street photography trip to Dhaka, Bangladesh, and she will talk about the challenges of street photography there. These eight hectic, chaotic and overwhelming days in Dhaka were followed by 10 quieter days in Oman, taking in the vast landscapes of the desert and the seascapes of the Gulf of Oman.
