WSPC February 6th Presentation – David Pavlich – HDR Photography

David Pavlich became serious about photography about 6 years ago while living near New Orleans.  He quickly found that he enjoyed all sorts of photography.  The New Orleans area offered a lot of opportunities to explore the many genres from Macro Photography to Street Photography.

The natural progression to home printing sent David on a course to print, mount, and sell his work.  Since moving to Winnipeg, he’s participated in several exhibits with fellow club members and has truly enjoyed the experience.

David hopes to continue to expand his enjoyment of photography by discovering more of the local opportunities Winnipeg and surrounding areas have to offer.

During David’s presentation, he will cover:

  • Introduction to HDR and why it has a stigma of being nothing more than over processing.
  • How to shoot bracketed shots to achieve the high dynamic range that this process gives us.
  • How to prepare bracketed shots for merging into Photomatix Pro 6 plugin for Light Room.
  • Three types of HDR processing:
    • The HDR image that is commonly associated with the process.
    • HDR that is used without the heavy tone mapping as done with real estate images.
    • How to take a single image and create a faux HDR image.
