Speaker – Jocelyne Hebert
Jocelyne Hebert will present “Behind the Story-A Journey from Concept to Completion”
Jocelyne Hebert, MPA has been captivated by photography and storytelling since childhood. This
lifelong passion gives her the artistic freedom to explore and share the beauty of the world
through her lens. Specializing in portraiture, Jocelyne thrives on the creative challenges of
photographic competition—pushing herself to express emotions and narratives that words alone
cannot convey.
Storytelling is at the heart of powerful photography. While a technically perfect image can impress,
it’s the story behind the photograph that creates connection. Visual storytelling brings context,
emotion, and meaning to an image— transforming a simple portrait into a rich narrative, a fleeting
moment into a lasting memory, and a subject into a relatable character.
Through composition, lighting, expression, setting, and thoughtful detail, photographers can
suggest relationships, histories, moods, and ideas without saying a word. This storytelling layer
invites viewers to pause, reflect, and feel something deeper.
Ultimately, storytelling elevates photography from documentation to art. It’s what makes an image
memorable, impactful, and emotionally resonant—because it speaks not just to the eyes, but to the
heart and imagination.
