DESCRIPTION:I’ve found Crocuses! There are quite a few in the Rosser Cemetery. So hopefully they are still there on May 3rd. I was there today and it was quite windy as it is mostly in an open area. So I’m proposing we make it an evening session from around 6:30 PM til sunset. It is about a 45 minute drive. There is very little walking needed as you can drive right up to the gate. You have the option of using the parking lot at Parc du Voyageur for $10. However\, parking is very limited so we encourage you to use the shuttle buses\, carpool or use a cab service.\nIs there a place to warm up? Yes. We’re a winter festival but we have many indoor heated places for you to warm up. All of our tents are heated to a comfortable temperature. We control park capacity and ticket sales to ensure there’s enough heated places for everyone. The tour will last approximately 1 hour and include the Stair Case\, Rotunda and Chamber. \nThere is no public parking on the Legislature grounds. They recommend street parking (metered) on Assiniboine Ave.\, Kennedy St. or at the Bay Parkade (St. Mary Ave at Memorial Blvd.). \nThey also recommend keeping tripods to a minimum\, especially since everything needs to go through security.

DESCRIPTION:Tim Smith’s photographs provide a contemporary and nuanced view of the Hutterite colonies – delving into complex decisions at the heart of the everyday. They offer a glimpse into the continuously negotiated sites of Hutterite life. Many of the images focus on the youth culture in the colonies\, where expressions of rebellion\, respect for tradition\, and maintenance of strict gender roles all create a sense of dual resistance – at once against the pressures of the outside world and against tradition. Having devoted twelve years to this ongoing documentation\, Smith’s understanding of the Hutterite communities creates a possibility of showing their complexity in ways that are responsive to how they wish to be seen.
