WSPC October 17th – Lindsay Reid: Architectural Photography

Lindsay Reid is an independent commercial photographer specializing in architectural exteriors, interiors, landscape photography and the designed/built environment.  During her 18 years as a web designer, she realized her brain functioned best when both right and left side were challenged, which ultimately led her to the field of photography.  Photography has proven to be a perfect balance between creative and technical.

Lindsay loves the idea of capturing the flow of people through a space at a given moment in time.  Her vision of each composition is fulfilled by choosing when that moment is captured, executed through technical control of the equipment and is polished with her many years of experience editing in Photoshop.  Lindsay’s continuous curiosity in both the design and technical sides of architecture and photography push and propel her to produce quality images for her clients.

Architectural Photography:

Architecture and photography have been deeply linked since the invention of photography; the earliest known photograph is of a building. In the present day, photography has become a means to allow the world an opportunity to see architecture that they may not have the chance to see in their lifetime.

Lindsay will discuss how she approaches architectural photography and go over a few projects that she’s been involved.  She will then go into more detail about how she approaches and builds a composition from planning to production through to post production.  Abstract architectural photography will be discussed and if there is interest, there will be an opportunity to discuss equipment used.  Questions are welcome throughout the presentation!
